Hi! We’re the Tucker Family - Monica and Matthew, with our kids Maggie and Max.

Both musicians, artists, and all around creative souls, we met at an open mic in West Asheville back in 2012. Instantly forming a connection around our shared passions, we formed a band that played around the area for several years. Before long, we had fallen in love, gotten married, and had our first child, Magnolia! Under pressure to make ends meet, our creativity was pushed to the sidelines in order to make room for parenting and stable jobs.

A move to Hendersonville, a pandemic, the birth of Max, and a couple careers later, we realized that pushing creativity to the sidelines was no longer working for us. We wanted to see what would happen if we brought our creativity to the forefront, instead of always simmering on the back burner. Not only that, we wanted to help others be more creative in their own lives and build a network of creative individuals who could collaborate, educate, and inspire one another. By 2023, we had both left our full time office jobs to be full time artists and start our own business.

The result? Arise & Shine Arts!
